Aimee Larsen was so much fun to work with. I assisted with proofreading, editing, and feedback on her book.
Sometimes the first step is getting to know your monsters.
It’s much harder to deal with things we don’t understand—including ourselves and our mental health. Through this series of poems, you’re invited to turn the light inwards and expose your monsters for what they really are.
No matter how dark the journey is right now, things will get better. In the meantime, take back some power by exploring the very real struggles you face. Put names to them, discover their habits, and try to find better ways to manage.
These poems offer unique perspectives, angles you might not have considered, and impart a very real glimpse into the life of another person who’s also doing her best to get to know her monsters. You’re never alone. Not in your struggles, not in the demons you face, not in the way you feel right now. You’re doing great—keep going.
