Over the past two decades, independent pharmacies across the United States have been shutting their doors at an alarming rate. According to Viraj Ghandi, founder and CEO of Medivant Healthcare, the number of independent pharmacies has declined dramatically, from 55,000 in the early 2000s to just 25,000 today.
